Dr. LeeAnn Rhodes is is board certified in Pain Medicine from the American Board of Anesthesiology. She is an experienced interventional pain management specialist and has a background in anesthesiology. She graduated from the University of Maryland School of Medicine and completed her residency and fellowship training at Johns Hopkins Hospital. For more than 20 years, she served as Medical Director of Pain Management at MedStar Washington Hospital Center where she trained multiple residents and fellows and lectured extensively. Dr. Rhodes has worked in the greater Baltimore Washington region for the past 20 years and has an excellent reputation in the field.

In the 1990s, opioid narcotics were a doctor’s weapon of choice for fighting pain which ultimately led to complications for many patients.  Today, there are many tools that treat chronic pain, including nerve blocks, which is the specialty of Dr. Rhodes. She supports an integrative approach to pain management combining sleep hygiene, exercise, healthy diets and body mechanics to not only treat pain but also to prevent additional pain. Her main goal is to act as a coach, to educate and empower, so that ultimately the patient is in control.

Dr. Rhodes treats multiple types of pain including spine pain, pain after spinal surgery, nerve pain, complex regional pain syndrome, and headaches. She also has expertise in areas such as complex regional pain, chronic pelvic pain and oncology pain management.
